the break in at ashford

The Break In. Fucking UK straight edge hardcore in full effect. These are some of the pics I made during one of their songs on one full blasting hardcore set. If you haven't been able to check out The Break In, up to now. Shame on you. Clevo influenced hardcore, dark and hard nailed as fuck. Go see them on the second part of the dirty black summer euro tour, and check out their record. It fucking rules.

So life is good. As we took off last saturday with Black Haven for our first shows and trip to the UK. These are a few snatches from our ride to Calais up to the fucking ferry which was awesome, and right after arriving at the UK. Heading towards our first show with the awesome The Break In at some pub in Ashford. I tried my best to take some pics here and there, but I'm a pretty lame guy as I don't like it to walk around with a camera all day. Alot of kids showed up, the kids look different than we have most of them overhere. But got to see some good UK bands such as Cold Snap and the awesome melodic Chaos Dayz. The Break In served us some vegan food, which was great as hunger took a strike. Our show went well, and The Break In blew off everything with a shitload of kids piling upon eachother, opening armageddon by covering Integrity's "rise". Hell yeah!. God, I love the UK. More pics coming up. So stay tuned.

Times have been awesome. Life brings good things. Last week 108 returned to Europe. Since their reunion last year, their show at the Lintfabriek Kontich was a full blast with backed up by a couple of lines full of kids singing along on every word. So this year they came back with a new record, that is still growing on me. So last week they came to Rock Herk and what seemed like a fucking awesome day, got drenched almost down the gutter through illness and a heavy cold striking me down. Lost my ride and hang out to one of the few bands that shaped my life til this day. Stayed the whole day in bed, and got myself a car last minute. Driving last minutely like nuts, I was not going to be missing out on 108. No fucking way. So I arrived right on time, when Vic opened up the show with"opposition", the night was dark, the kids were psyched. Lining up with friends to sing along to every fucking word with Rob Fish. It was fucking awesome, and probably already one of the best shows I got to see this year. 108 means alot to me. At the time 108 broke up it was one of the bands next to Shelter who shaped life and ideals even through spirituality and krishnacore, powerful. It felt so good after the show to have them around again, Rob Fish did some hard speeching, that got us boiled up. Hardcore rules, you, shut the fuck up. pics by Clio
This is the best video I found from the show at Rock Herk.
Old awesome video from 108 around 1995. Mid nineties galore.

it sucks when you don't have taste

This blog has been around for over a little than a year now. it feels good to have an outlet where you can ramble on about anything what's on your mind. And this blog should be the way to throw out shit on records, trips, hardcore, stuff i've been working on and other things of interest going from art to fucking japanese hardcore and punk and politics. Anyways...there's some exciting stuff to look forward to, and coming up. While the summer will be a blast! More updates, ramblings, clevo hardcore, food issues and politics coming up. Stay the fuck in, or stay the fuck out.

The local Japanese supermarket is one of the few places i've been hanging out more and more. Taking shitload of time on going through packages of noodles, japanese tea, loads of weird drinks and lemonades, tofu and soy products. The packagings are often interesting, and the tastes and combinations are weird and unusual. If you're in for excitement check out your local Japanese supermarket. Those things rule. Today I have been sipping for hours on two different cans. However, after some research these drinks are Korean and not Japanese. So the first one being "soojeonggwa" which is drink restaurants serve after dinner with some peanuts in it. It tastes very sweet , this so called healthy beverage Korean Traditional " Sweet Cinnamon Punch". Too much sweetness for me. Up next is the Korean Traditional " Rice Punch", been sipping on that one for a merely one hour and a half. Tastes very sweet, has a weird rice taste that feels like it's been sugared as hell. The rice takes you by surprise when you finally hit the bottom. So shake those things up. Both are beverages, not really softdrinks. Both the cans look sweet. Might become a collector.

Skate Corpse : discography
LP Punks Bfore Profits Records
Definitely one of the records that while make it through the summer. Finally found this record in a distro on the ANS show. This is rad eighties sounding hardcore/punk mixed up with surf music. This record has been pressed up to only 300 copies, and haves some unreleased stuff on it, the first side more punk, the other side hald surf instrumentals. Charming record. If you come around this one, pick it up.

Desolation : s/t
LP Prank Records (red wax)
Bough this record a while ago in Prague. However got to play this raging japcore record for the first time, this month. Raw raging punk/hardcore, still need to get those Crow records, but this one is an excellent filler. With rad Japanese artwork by Sugi who did a lot of classic japanese hardcore/punk sleeves.

Framtid: Under The Ashes
LP Black Water Records 2002
Fuck. Definitely on eof the bands who blew away on Trashfest this year. Framtid is an amazing d-beat/hardcore punk japanese outfit. Spiked and patched political peace punk, full of filth and desperation . The whole thing sounds raw as fuck, and I can't get enough from stuff like this.

V/A Tunes For Fucker : Vol. 2
LP Tunes For Fucker Records / Bootleg
So it is a bootleg LP. Crammed with four classic out of print and rare Japanese hardcore/punk gems. This stuff sounds evil raw and fucked. Love this stuff with eighties Japanese hardcore, comes with a sleeve with all the info on the original labels and inserts. Somedbody, help me out finding vol. 1 to complete the collection. Recommended.

Arabian Love Songs
LP High Frequency Records
Found this one for a merely 50 cents. This is a collection of Arabic folk songs, Bedouin tribes and camelherders. And a whole lot more stuff representing the Arabic world. All of the music was originally recorded in the Middle East. It has been released on Request Records, probably around the seventies. Awesome record that came straight out of Israel. Getting out early out of bed to go for record hunting is worth every effort.
