Today was a special day as John Wiese played Gent. I've always been a big fan of his stuff , seen him two years ago when he came over with Sunn O)) and when he opened up for them. Although I hate hyped up monked dronemetal. John Wiese has always been one of my favorite noise artists next to Merzbow, Masonna, Bastard Noise, Kevin Drumm and a couple of more. Great to have him in our city, but my batteries sucked rotten eggs and gave up just after two pictures. He played a short intense set. I loved it. Up next was Ray Jewell who blasted out some lo-fi generated experimental noise. Good stuff. Nights are getting cold....but this city rules.
